This policy explains what data SnapBudget collects, how it's used, and how we protect it.

Financial Data

Your financial information is private and sensitive. We protect it rigorously.

Stored Locally Only
All financial data — transactions, budgets, categories, and spending history — is stored exclusively on your device. We never transmit financial data to SnapBudget servers.
No Bank Account Access
SnapBudget does not connect to your bank or any financial institution. All entries are made manually or via receipt scanning.
Receipt Processing
When you scan a receipt, the image is processed on-device using Apple's Vision framework for OCR. The original image is permanently deleted immediately after text is extracted.

Camera & Photo Access

Camera access is used only for receipt scanning.

Receipt Scanning Only
Camera and photo library access is requested solely to scan receipts. We do not store, analyze, or transmit any images beyond the moment of text extraction.
Revoke Anytime
You can revoke camera permission at any time via iOS Settings → SnapBudget → Camera.

iCloud Sync

Optional sync keeps your budgets in sync across Apple devices.

Opt-In Only
iCloud sync is entirely optional and disabled by default. To enable it, go to Settings → Sync.
End-to-End Encrypted
When sync is enabled, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account under Apple's end-to-end encryption. SnapBudget has zero access to this data.

Security

We use the strongest available iOS security features.

iOS Data Protection
All local data is stored using iOS Data Protection with Complete Protection class, meaning it is encrypted while your device is locked.
Face ID / Touch ID
You can lock SnapBudget behind Face ID or Touch ID for an additional layer of security.
No Third Parties
We share no financial or personal data with any third party, advertiser, or data broker — ever.

Data Deletion

Delete your data permanently at any time.

Full Wipe
You can erase all SnapBudget data from Settings → Delete All Data. This action is immediate and irreversible.
